George Ray's Dragstrip is an automotive drag racing strip in Paragould, Arkansas. Built in 1961 by the famous George Ray, it is the oldest single-purpose drag racing facility in Arkansas. It is located on Arkansas Highway 135, east of Paragould, with racing occurring (in season and weather permitting) every Sunday.

As for the Deep South strip, you may be thinking of George Ray's Wildcat Hot Rod Dragstrip in Arkansas, not the oldest (opened 1961) but perhaps the most old-fashioned. Great Bend, KA hosted the first NHRA Nationals in '55 (same year Great Lakes) but I don't know if it has been continually operating. Cdh1984 15:43, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

The March Meet is an independent drag race held at Famoso Raceway, a dragstrip located approximately ten miles north of Bakersfield, California.It began in 1959 under the sanction of the "Smokers Car Club" and was initially known as the "US Fuel & Gas Championships."
