Grand River National Grassland is a National Grassland in northwestern South Dakota, United States. It is named for the Grand River. The North and South forks of the rivers meet in the grassland. It has a land area of 154,783 acres (62,638 ha). [2] In descending order of acreage it lies in parts of Perkins, Corson, and Ziebach counties.
It flows east, through the Standing Rock Indian Reservation and joins the Missouri in Lake Oahe, approximately 2 mi (3 km) northwest of Mobridge. The lower 15 mi (24 km) of the river form an arm of the Lake Oahe reservoir. It is the northernmost of South Dakota's major West River streams: the Grand, Moreau, Cheyenne, Bad, and White.

Shadehill Reservoir is a reservoir on the Grand River in Perkins County, South Dakota, USA. The lake was created by the construction of Shadehill Dam by the United States Bureau of Reclamation in 1951. [3] The reservoir has two primary inflows: North Fork Grand River and South Fork Grand River. The single Grand River serves as the only outflow.
