The Volkswagen ID.3 is a battery electric small family car produced by Volkswagen since 2019. It is the first production car to utilize the MEB platform , [ 11 ] and the first model of the ID. series . [ 12 ]
The ID. series is the first series of cars from VW, purpose-built as electric vehicles. [2] Most of its production vehicles were adapted from several concept car models. [ 3 ] According to Volkswagen, ID. stands for "intelligent design, identity and visionary technologies".

The Volkswagen ID.3 In 2017, Volkswagen announced plans to place a considerable focus on electric vehicles (EV), with a goal to, by 2025, launch at least 30 EV models, and have 20 to 25 per cent of their total yearly sales volume (2–3 million) consist of EVs. [ 59 ]
On 3 June 2019 the ID.R used 24.7 kWh to break the electric vehicle lap record on the Nürburgring with a time of 6:05.336, cornering at up to 3.49 g. [8] The record time was previously held by the NIO EP9 driven by Peter Dumbreck. Again driven by Dumas, the ID. R reached speeds of 273 km/h (170 mph), for an average of 205.3 km/h (127.6 mph).
The ID. 2all will be one of 10 new EVs Volkswagen plans to launch by 2026. One of those, Volkswagen says, will be another that will cost less than 20,000 euros ($21,000).
