Founded in 1966, the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) is an organization in the United States serving the interests of ceramics as an art form and in creative education. Most major American ceramic artists since the 1970s, such as Frances Senska , Paul Soldner , Peter Voulkos , and Rudy Autio have been among its members.

An offshoot of Red Wing Terra Cotta Works, the Minnesota Stoneware Company, was in production from 1880 to 1906, making a salt-glazed version of the pottery. It is one of the companies that merged to form Red Wing Union Stoneware Company. [1] [2]

Mississippi Gateway Regional Park, formerly Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park, [3] is located in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota and Coon Rapids, Minnesota. The dam, for which the park was named, was built by Northern States Power Company in 1913 for electrical power generation. Power generation was discontinued in 1966, so the dam is now used for recreation.
