Monkey D. Luffy (/ ˈ l uː f i / LOO-fee) (Japanese: モンキー・D・ルフィ, Hepburn: Monkī Dī Rufi, [ɾɯꜜɸiː]), also known as "Straw Hat" Luffy, [n 2] is a fictional character and the protagonist in the Japanese manga series One Piece created by Eiichiro Oda.

Luffy is knocked into a stream and washes up in a pool where Hancock is bathing. Luffy and members of the Kuja Pirates defeat everyone except Ginger, who escapes using a CO2 attack which separates the Kujas from Luffy and Hancock.
