Michael Edward Novogratz (born November 26, 1964) is an American investor, formerly of the investment firm Fortress Investment Group. [1] He is currently CEO of Galaxy Investment Partners which focuses on investments in cryptocurrency .
Fortress Investment Group LLC was founded in 1998 in New York City as a private equity firm in 1998 by Wesley R. Edens, a former partner at BlackRock; Rob Kauffman, a managing director at UBS; Randal A. Nardone, also a managing director at UBS; Michael Novogratz, a former partner at Goldman Sachs; and Pete Briger, also a former partner at Goldman Sachs.
Novogratz was born on May 9, 1997, to interior-design couple Robert and Cortney Novogratz from Bravo's 9 By Design. He has six younger siblings, Bellamy (1998), Tallulah (1998), Breaker (2000), Five (2005), Holleder (2005), and Major (2009), and is the nephew of Wall Street billionaire Mike Novogratz.
