Gossamer is an animated character in the Warner Bros. Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series of cartoons. He is a large, hairy, orange [5] or red [6] [7] monster. His body is perched on two giant tennis shoes, and his heart-shaped face is composed of only two oval eyes and a wide mouth, with two hulking arms ending in dirty, clawed fingers.
Douglas Yancey "Doug" Funnie (voiced by Billy West in the Nickelodeon series and by Thomas McHugh in the Disney series) is depicted as an unlucky, average, self-conscious, naïve, and occasionally sensitive 11-(later 12)-year-old boy who wants to fit in with the crowd, but is very creative and imaginative, and has a strong sense of right and wrong, making him more likely to stand out.
The character also appears at Walt Disney World's Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disneyland's Disney California Adventure in Muppet*Vision 3D. He is the only Muppet to appear "live" in the show.
