Izuku is first seen in My Hero Academia as a 4-year-old boy about to be beaten up by three other classmates, one of them being Katsuki "Kacchan" Bakugo, who has the ability to create explosions. Izuku was born without any unique superpower, or "Quirk", to call his own unlike his parents and 80% of the world's population.

The season follows Izuku Midoriya, who had given a chance to show off his Quirk along with his classmates in the Sports Festival, in which the Pro Heroes can hire them as their internships. Later, things are getting worse in Hosu City as Stain appears, eventually leading to a confrontation with the League of Villains and the young Hero interns.
After 1-A regroups, they deduce why Nine wants Katsuma after he uses his Quirk to heal Izuku and Bakugo. They decide to prepare and fight the villains while awaiting the arrival of other Heroes. After evacuating the islanders to a small island, the class successfully separate Nine from his gang, with them each being defeated by the students.
