The Harbin Grand Theatre or Harbin Opera House (Chinese: 哈尔滨大剧院; pinyin: Hā'ěrbīn Dàjùyuàn) is a multi-venue performing arts centre in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China. Measuring 850,349 square feet, the theatre is designed by well-known Chinese architect agency MAD led by Ma Yansong .
Renowned for his bold designs, Ma has led MAD in the creation of many significant structures around the world, including the Lucas Museum of Narrative Arts, Harbin Opera House, Quzhou Stadium, FENIX Museum, The Yue Cheng Courtyard Kindergarten, Jiaxing Train Station, Shenzhen Bay Culture Park, One River North, and the Tunnel of Light.
The concert hall is situated in Harbin, hosting city of the renowned annual Harbin Summer Music Concert and a metropolis where China's first ever orchestra was established. The building serves as the home of the Harbin Symphony Orchestra. The concert hall was situated on Maimai Street, Daoli District before 2014. [1]
