Intheoaks, also known as In-the-oaks, is a historic estate and a national historic district located at Black Mountain, Buncombe County, North Carolina.The district encompasses nine contributing buildings, two contributing sites, seven contributing structures, and four contributing objects associated with a country estate of the 1920s.
The Family Cabin Historic District of Black Moshannon State Park consists of 16 contributing properties on 16.5 acres (6.7 ha): 13 cabins, one lodge and two latrines. Twelve of the cabins are laid out in a straight line along an access road, which is a design similar to that of motor courts of the 1930s.

Notable buildings include the George Stepp House (1907), Black Mountain Depot (1909), firehouse (1921) designed by Richard Sharp Smith, town hall (1927), Kaltman Building (1928), and Pure Oil Service Station (c. 1945). [2] It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004. [1]
Black Mountain is located in eastern Buncombe County. The town of Montreat borders Black Mountain to the north, and the unincorporated community of Swannanoa is on the western border. U.S. Route 70 (State Street) is the main road through the center of town. Interstate 40 passes just to the south of downtown, with access from exits 64 and 65.
