The United States Forces Korea (USFK) is a sub-unified command of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM). USFK was initially established in 1957, and encompasses U.S. combat-ready fighting forces and components under the ROK/US Combined Forces Command (CFC) – a supreme command for all of the South Korean and U.S. ground, air, sea and special operations component commands.
The 604th Air Support Operations Squadron is a United States Air Force unit located at Camp Humphreys, Republic of Korea.The 604th provides tactical command and control of airpower assets through the use of joint terminal attack controllers to the Joint Forces Air Component Commander and Joint Forces Land Component Commander for combat operations within the Korean peninsula.
The immediate area around Camp Humphreys is mostly agricultural and consists mainly of rice fields. There are some rolling hills in the vicinity, but for the most part the elevations are less than 150 feet (46 m).
