The fix is to open the SVG file in a text editor, find the <image> element, locate "image/jpg", change it to "image/jpeg" and re-save. At right is an example of this problem. The Commons SVG Checker looks for this problem; see Commons:Commons:Commons SVG Checker/KnownBugs#Checks for details.

The SVG format is the working format of the stored image so that people can more easily convert images for use in different languages.
The file description page, and Wikipedia renderings, do not render 14 differently-colored trapezoidal paths that should be visible in front of the 14 yellow rectangles. In Inkscape, you can cut down on some of this by choosing to save as "Plain SVG", not "Inkscape SVG". SVG files can lose quality if edited poorly, but quality loss is by no means mathematically certain (as is the case with JPEG generation loss)... AnonMoos 08:54, 15 April 2014 (UTC)

Users having problems with uploaded SVG images may ask for assistance at Wikipedia:SVG Help. For a list of SVG editing software, see List of vector graphics editors.
