Le Moyne College begins every academic year with two rituals: (1) 'Moving In Weekend,' when current students help to carry the boxes and suitcases of the new, first-year students into the dormitories; and (2) the Mass of the Holy Spirit, which continues a tradition dating back to the first Jesuit school, established in Messina, Sicily, in 1548 (probably preceding this date).

Cedar Cliff High School's dedication was held on October 25, 1959. Cedar Cliff was operated by the West Shore Joint Senior High School Board. This board was a jointure of the school districts of Lemoyne, Lower Allen Township, New Cumberland, Redland, and Wormleysburg.
Le Moyne launched its women's varsity basketball program in earnest during the 1975–76 season, opening with a home game on February 10, 1976, against Nazareth. The Dolphins were coached by Le Moyne athletic director Tommy Niland, who retired as the head coach of the men's team three years earlier after 25 years at the helm.
Harrisburg Academy offers a variety of athletic programs. Athletic teams compete actively against other independent, parochial and smaller public schools.. In 2008, a two-year commitment between the academy and Trinity High School allows students to play for each other's designated athletic teams.

For many students, the social development gained from the program rivals the scientific knowledge they acquire. The students leave the program with a strong bond; most attend an organized reunion the following year after the 4th week of the program.
