Monsters Under the Bed is an album by the Canadian hard rock band Honeymoon Suite, released in 1991. [ 2 ] [ 3 ] The band was now a trio, consisting of Johnnie Dee , Dermot "Derry" Grehan , and returning keyboardist Ray Coburn.
The song uses the analogy of a monster hiding under a child's bed to represent troubles in one's life. Taste of Country writer Sterling Whitaker wrote that "Church sings over simple acoustic guitar chords to open the track. But as the song progresses, he admits that he's turned to prayer to face his all-too-real challenges as an adult."
The band returned to the studio to craft Monsters Under the Bed with Paul Northfield producing and the team of Grehan/Coburn/Dee was responsible for the songwriting. Singles "Say You Don't Know Me" and "The Road" were moderately successful in Canada.
