This is a list of primary immunodeficiencies (PID), which are immune deficiencies that are not secondary to another condition.. The International Union of Immunological Societies recognizes nine classes of primary immunodeficiencies, totaling approximately 430 conditions.
By definition, primary immune deficiencies are due to genetic causes. They may result from a single genetic defect, but most are multifactorial. They may be caused by recessive or dominant inheritance. Some are latent, and require a certain environmental trigger to become manifest, like the presence in the environment of a reactive allergen.

The nth ionization energy of an atom is the energy required to detach its nth electron after the first n − 1 electrons have already been detached. Each successive ionization energy is markedly greater than the last. Particularly great increases occur after any given block of atomic orbitals is exhausted of electrons. For this reason, ions ...

Combined potential of an atom and a uniform laser field. At distances r < r 0, the potential of the laser can be neglected, while at distances with r > r 0 the Coulomb potential is negligible compared to the potential of the laser field. The electron emerges from under the barrier at r = R c. E i is the ionization potential of the atom.
