San Jacinto College (Spanish: Colegio San Jacinto) is a public community college in the Greater Houston area, with its campuses in Pasadena and Houston, Texas. The first post-secondary education at the San Jacinto High School facilities began on March 7, 1927, when Houston Junior College (HJC) was formed and occupied the building. Initially, the campus offered only night courses. [3] Its first session began March 7, 1927, with an enrollment of 232 students and 12 faculty.
Clear Horizons Early College High School was founded in 2007. The school is located on the South Campus of the San Jacinto Community College District. [1] It is the successor of Clear Creek Independent School District's Project ExCEL. [citation needed] Clear Horizons' first graduating class in 2009 consisted of 12 students.
The SWJCC currently has the three campuses of San Jacinto College as members, all are public schools. As of 2022, San Jacinto merged its three mascots and teams (San Jacinto College–Central Ravens, San Jacinto College–North Gators, San Jacinto College–South Coyotes) into one mascot, the Ravens.
