It encompasses approximately 4,000 acres (16 km 2 ), bounded by White, Angela, Windsor, Passover, Thomas and Whitehead Streets, and the Gulf of Mexico .
The "Old Town" neighborhood is located on the west side of the island and is within the Key West Historic District. The district is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).
