Volgograd State Medical University is located in Volgograd which is situated in the southern part of Russia on the west bank of the Volga River. It started as Stalingrad Medical Institute founded in 1935. In 1993 it received the status of the Academy, and in 2003 it was granted the status of the University. It is headed by Vladimir I. Petrov.

Volgograd State University (VolSU, Russian: Волгоградский государственный университет) is a public university and one of the leading institutions of higher education in Volgograd, Russia.
In 2012, the academy was renamed again (to the Pyatigorsk Medical and Pharmaceutical Institute) and joined the Volgograd State Medical University as a branch. [ 2 ] Education and Science

In 1974, a branch of the Volgograd State Physical Education Academy was established in Kazan. 12 years later, the branch was transferred to Naberezhnye Chelny, and in 1997, the Kama State Institute of Physical Culture was founded on this basis.
The structure of the university has 13 faculties, including 10 full-time and 3 part-time and correspondence courses. The university also includes 4 branches: Volzhsky Polytechnic Institute (VPI), [4] Kamyshinsky Technological Institute (KTI), [5] Sebryakovsky branch (SF) [6] and Volzhsky Scientific and Technical Complex (VNTK).
