Mike Compton (born February 29, 1956) is an American mandolinist who has worked in bluegrass music, old-time music, folk music, and country blues.Compton is recognized for his interpretation of Bill Monroe’s mandolin style, performing as both a solo artist and with ensembles.
Simpson had expressed his desire to record a bluegrass album as early as 2017. Both volumes were recorded earlier in 2020 after Simpson had recovered from coronavirus; [5] he and the musicians on the record performed a livestreamed concert at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on June 5, 2020, as a promise to fans who raised nearly $250,000 for COVID-19 relief.
During his teenage years he developed as a banjo and mandolin player, making many trips to Fleadhs (Irish Music Festivals), as well as many weekends in County Clare, where his style was honed, playing regularly with the Russell brothers from Doolin, Noel Hill, Tony Linnane and other great Clare musicians.
Davis was raised in Cullman, Alabama, in a musical family.His grandfather J.H. Bailey played banjo and fiddle. In the 1930s, his father Leddell Davis and uncles sang the "brother duets" music style (a forerunner of bluegrass music), and Davis's uncle Cleo Davis was a member of the first incarnation of Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys.

Watchhouse (formerly Mandolin Orange) is an Americana/folk duo based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.The group was formed in 2009 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and consists of songwriter Andrew Marlin (vocals, mandolin, guitar, banjo) and Emily Frantz (vocals, violin, guitar), who are married to each other.
In 1975, his book "Bluegrass Mandolin" was published by Oak Publications. [5] The following year, he recorded a solo album "Back Road Mandolin" on Rounder Records. In 1976, he formed Tasty Licks, a progressive bluegrass group. One of the members of the group was an aspiring young banjo player, Bela Fleck. Tasty Licks released two albums ("Tasty ...
