Kasur derives its name from the Arabic and Persian word qasur (قصور), [10] [11] meaning "palaces," or "forts." According to a legend, Kasur was founded by, and named for, Prince Kusha of the Ramayana, [12] son of the Hindu deities Rama and Sita.
