The San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival was created in 2004 by co-producers Ken Loyst and Michelle Metter. Proceeds from the auctions benefit the American Institute of Wine & Food Culinary Arts Scholarship programs for students in San Diego. COVID-19 pandemic restrictions required 2020's 17th annual festival to be deferred to 2021.
The San Diego County Fair began in 1880 as an agricultural fair. The location moved from place to place for several years, finally settling on the Del Mar Fairgrounds when it opened in 1936. There was no fair in 1917–18 due to World War I , 1942–45 due to World War II , and 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic .

The show is the largest indoor antiques show south of San Francisco and attracts over 100 antiques dealers from across the western United States. [ 4 ] [ 5 ] During the downturn in the economy, the 2009 show had 20 percent fewer exhibitors than usual. [ 6 ]
Cameron Hughes, a native of Modesto California, learned the wine industry from his father, Steve Hughes, a wine salesperson. [1] [7] Cameron Hughes established a wine-brokering firm with his wife and business partner, Jessica Kogan, in 2001. [1] [2] Hughes sold his personal collection of wine to fund the brokerage.
The first Sun God Festival coincided with the one-year anniversary of Sun God ' s arrival in 1984. [2] [3] The festival's original location was adjacent to the statue, but it has since grown and moved numerous times, from Price Center to the now-demolished Mile High Field, eventually finding a more permanent home at its current location on RIMAC field.
The Mingei International Museum is a non-profit public institution in Balboa Park in San Diego, California, that collects, conserves and exhibits folk art, craft and design. The museum was founded in 1974, and its building opened in 1978. [ 1 ]
