Ralston is a city in south-central Douglas County roughly bounded by 72nd, 84th, L, and Harrison Streets. It is surrounded by Omaha on three sides. The other side borders with La Vista. Valley was established in 1886 and was an important shipping point along the Union Pacific Railroad.
Covering 4,407 square miles (11,410 km 2) and with a population of 967,604 (2020), [2] the Omaha metropolitan area is the most populous in both Nebraska and Iowa (although the Des Moines–West Des Moines MSA is the largest MSA centered entirely in Iowa), and is the 58th most populous MSA in the United States.
Ralston Public Schools (RPS, a.k.a. Douglas County School District 0054 [1]) is a school district headquartered in Ralston, Nebraska. [2] It also serves southwestern sections of Omaha. [3] As of 2019 the district has over 270 teachers with full-time status and about 3,400 students. [4]
