Bleach (ブリーチ, Burīchi) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tite Kubo. Bleach follows the adventures of high school student Ichigo Kurosaki after he obtains the powers of a Soul Reaper (死神, Shinigami, literally, "Death God") from another Soul Reaper, Rukia Kuchiki.

Ichigo Kurosaki (黒崎 一護, Kurosaki Ichigo) is a fictional character in the Bleach manga series and its adaptations created by author Tite Kubo. He is the main protagonist of the series, who receives Soul Reaper powers after meeting Rukia Kuchiki , a Soul Reaper assigned to patrol around the fictional city of Karakura Town.
Zangetsu also adds that it was Hollow Ichigo that always came to Ichigo's aid while admitting he initially tried to stop Ichigo from becoming a Soul Reaper to keep him safe from even himself. But handing over Ichigo's real Zanpakutō so he can use his full power, Zangetsu explains he later decided to help the youth after seeing his determination.
Zangetsu is still the main player-character, but Curse of the Moon 2 introduces three new companions that can be swapped as in the first game: Dominique, who uses spears; Robert, who uses guns; and Hachi, a corgi who pilots a robot. Ichigo is able to free his sisters before taking Grand Fisher on in a highly destructive fight and defeating him with Uryū's support, only for the two to be ambushed and Uryū injured by Renji, who with Byakuya decided to renege on their deal. Though Ichigo manages to overpower Renji, Byakuya steps in and defeats Ichigo with overwhelming pace.
