The Jay Cooke House (also known as Cooke Castle), is a historic summer estate house on Gibraltar Island, an island in the Lake Erie community of Put-in-Bay, Ohio.Built in 1865, it was the summer house and a favorite place of financier Jay Cooke (1821–1905).

The main dining hall was 155 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 52 feet high. The ordinary dining hall was 100 feet long and 50 feet wide. Together, the main and ordinary dining halls could serve up to 1,200 guests at a time. It was the largest summer resort hotel in the world [3] and averaged 1,000 guests a day in 1899. [4]

South Bass Island is a small island in western Lake Erie, and a part of Ottawa County, Ohio, United States. It is the southernmost of the three Bass Islands and located 3 miles (4.6 km) from the south shore of Lake Erie. It is the third largest island in the Lake Erie Islands, and is part of Put-in-Bay Township.
