The Chicago Maroon, the independent student newspaper of the University of Chicago, is a weekly publication founded in 1892. During the academic year, The Maroon publishes every Tuesday and Friday. The paper consists of seven sections: news, opinion ("Viewpoints"), arts, sports, Grey City, podcasts, and games.

Initially a joint venture between the University of Chicago and the University of Virginia, the PJM project was located in Chicago, Illinois, until 1971, at which time it moved to Charlottesville, Virginia. The first ten PJM volumes were published by the University of Chicago Press between 1962 and 1977.
