Abrahadabra is the eighth studio album by Norwegian symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir, released in 2010. The first single from the album, "Gateways", was released on 20 August in Europe and 24 August in North America. Dimmu Borgir (/ ˈ d ɪ m uː ˈ b ɔːr ɡ ɪər /) is a Norwegian symphonic black metal band from Jessheim, formed in 1993. The name is derived from Dimmuborgir , a volcanic formation in Iceland, the name of which means "dark cities" or "dark castles/fortresses" in Icelandic , Faroese and Old Norse .
Dimmu Borgir was formed in 1993 by Shagrath, Silenoz, and Tjodalv in Oslo, Norway and released their first extended play, Inn i evighetens mørke (English: Into Eternal Darkness), in 1995 shortly followed by their debut studio album, For all tid (English: For All Time), in the same year.

Dimmu Borgir is a Norwegian symphonic black metal band from Jessheim.Formed in 1993, the group was originally a trio which featured Sven Atle "Erkekjetter Silenoz" Kopperud on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Ian Kenneth "Tjodalv" Åkesson on lead guitar, and Stian Tomt "Shagrath" Thoresen on drums.
Kjølsrud also collaborated with Dimmu Borgir on their studio album titled Abrahadabra and Solefald on their studio album titled Norrøn livskunst. In 2013, she sang "Get Jinxed" for the video game League of Legends; its music video has over 100 million views on YouTube. [3]
In February 2009, the band toured Europe; a number of the U.K. dates were part of a package tour sponsored by Metal Hammer dubbed "Defenders of the Faith" featuring Dimmu Borgir as co-headliners. [5] The group then toured Australia through March as part of the Soundwave Festival, which was headlined by Nine Inch Nails and Alice in Chains. [6]
Silenoz has been Dimmu Borgir's guitarist since they started. He also composes and writes lyrics for most of the band's songs. He contributed vocals (on Stormblåst, its re-recording, and Godless Savage Garden) and bass (on Stormblåst MMV). He also sang lead vocals on their debut album For All Tid.
