Christian Brothers High School moved to a separate campus on Walnut Grove Road in Memphis and began to operate under a separate charter. [8] The new CBHS campus opened in 1965 after four years of planning, fund raising, and construction. [8] The college-level school (now Christian Brothers University) remained at the East Parkway campus.
The school's third classroom section, the Science, Math and Technology Wing, opened in 2001. Also that year saw the beginning of KBFT, a closed-circuit television station, with programming starring, produced, and broadcast entirely by Christian Brothers High School students. The school motto Conanti Corona, translates as "A crown to the one who strives", which is used as an expression to help students to try their best in all aspects of life. The school crest is adapted from the Christian Brothers’ crest, highlighting the Celtic Cross and the Irish heritage of the Christian Brothers.

CBA's students come from a large geographic area. As of the 2023–2024 school year, CBA has an enrollment of over 570 students who represent 49 different school districts. Approximately 1/4th of its students live in cities, and 3/4ths of its students come from suburban areas.
CBA opened to girls after Syracuse's all-girls school, The Franciscan Academy, closed and many of those parents actively lobbied to have CBA accept female students. In 2019, CBA was named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, one of 50 private schools nationally, and the only private school in New York State.
The current campus is located at the northwest corner at the intersection of I-64 and I-270, close to Missouri Baptist University. The first academic year at the new location was 2003–04.
