Washington is a city in Daviess County, Indiana, United States.The population was 12,017 at the time of the 2020 census.The city is the county seat of Daviess County. The area that would become the state of Indiana in 1816 was included in the original Knox County. As the area became more settled, Knox was partitioned into smaller counties, the last of which was the present-day Daviess, authorized on February 2, 1818.
