Moestopo was born in Ngadiluwih, Kediri, East Java, Dutch East Indies on 13 June 1913. He was the sixth of eight children born to Raden Koesoemowinoto. [1] After his primary schooling, Moestopo went to the School of Dentistry (STOVIT) in Surabaya.
