The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents voted to change the name of Texas A&M University-Commerce to East Texas A&M University, effective Nov. 7, 2024.
Rudin announced his support for the name change to East Texas A&M University and announced he would be taking the motion to rename the university to the A&M System Board of Regents during their November meeting.
