Robert Paxton McCulloch (May 11, 1911 – February 25, 1977) was an American entrepreneur from Missouri, best known for McCulloch chainsaws and purchasing the "New" London Bridge, which he moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona—one of the cities he founded.
London Bridge crosses the narrow Bridgewater Channel [7] that leads from Lake Havasu (a segment of the Colorado River) to Thompson Bay (also on the river). [8] [9] Hoping to attract tourists and prospective buyers of residential lots, McCulloch bought it for US$2.5 million from the City of London, England, when the bridge was replaced in 1968.

The bridge carries the McCulloch Boulevard and spans the Bridgewater Channel, an artificial, navigable waterway that leads from the Uptown area of Lake Havasu City.
In 1964, McCulloch founded Lake Havasu City, Arizona, with a factory and housing for its workers. The company founder Robert McCulloch was involved in buying the London Bridge at auction in the 1960s. It was then reassembled in Lake Havasu City and opened in 1971. [4] [5]
The version of London Bridge that was rebuilt at Lake Havasu consists of a concrete frame with stones from the old (but not the original) London Bridge used as cladding. It spans a canal that leads from Lake Havasu to Thomson Bay, and forms the centrepiece of a theme park in the English style, complete with mock-Tudor shopping mall.
McCulloch and Wood created the Lake Havasu community, with Wood as the city planner. Wood told McCulloch of the availability of the London Bridge which was being replaced after 130 years of use in London, England. McCulloch purchased the bridge, had it dismantled stone-by-stone, transported it to the U.S., and had it reassembled in Arizona. [6]
