Cotai Water Jet (Chinese: 金光飛航; Portuguese: Jacto de Água Cotai) is a company that operates high-speed ferry services between Macau and Hong Kong.It is one of the two companies operating high-speed ferry services between the two territories – the other one being TurboJET.
The pier has operated since 8 October 1988. It operates 06:00–22:00 Monday–Friday, and 06:00–02:00 Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays. It provides ferry services to Macau and mainland China. The ferry terminal, including ferry routes, was temporarily suspended from 30 January 2020 to early 2023 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [1]
Scheduled ferries have run between Hong Kong and Macau since the earliest days of the Hong Kong colony. Ferries to Macau departed from the old Macau Ferry Piers at this location from at least the mid-20th century, although in the 1960s the steamships – Tak Sing, Dai Loy, Fat Shan and the (more luxurious) Macao – would take around four hours for the trip.
