The Offspring is an American rock band from Garden Grove, California, formed in 1984. [2] Originally formed under the name Manic Subsidal, the band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Bryan "Dexter" Holland, lead guitarist Kevin "Noodles" Wasserman, bassist Todd Morse, multi-instrumentalist Jonah Nimoy and drummer Brandon Pertzborn.
After Manic Subsidal changed its name to The Offspring in 1986, [1] drummer Ron Welty finally joined in 1987, then the band recorded a demo a year later. The Offspring signed a record deal with short-lived label Nemesis Records, and released its first album, The Offspring, in 1989 on vinyl only. That album would not be released on CD until 1995.
