Sigma Phi Epsilon (ΣΦΕ), commonly known as SigEp, is a social college fraternity for male college students in the United States. It was founded on November 1, 1901, at Richmond College, which is now the University of Richmond , and its national headquarters remains in Richmond , Virginia .

Sigma Phi Epsilon is an American social college fraternity. [1] It was founded on November 1, 1901, at Richmond College, which is now the University of Richmond. The first fraternity houses at the University of Richmond were Phi Kappa Sigma and Kappa Sigma, which were built in 1928 and 1930, respectively. The other fraternities met in various rooms across the campus until the university began building lodges, starting in 1953 and ending in 1959.
Sigma Phi Epsilon Literary Society (ΣΦΕ) is a female literary society at Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois. Sigma Phi Epsilon was founded on January 22, 1916. [ 1 ] Sigma Phi Epsilon is headquartered on the top floor of the David A. Smith House on the college's campus.
They were joined by Pi Rho Phi of Westminster College at the Charter Arch Convocation meeting, held at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania from February 21 to 23, 1924. [ 2 ] [ 3 ] The result was the creation of Theta Upsilon , later called Theta Upsilon Omega. [ 3 ]
The last two owners were the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and the current owner, the city of Edwardsville. In 1999 the city of Edwardsville purchased the home from the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and in 2001 a restoration project began. The project aimed to restore the house to its authentic 1820s appearance and open the house as a public museum.
