    Pinkerton School (S.S. 11) was built in 1873, and was one of the first brick schools in the area. A new brick school with a bell tower and two entrances was built in 1908, and was used until at least the late 1950s. [4] The Toronto–Barrie Highway, now called Ontario Highway 400, was built through the east boundary of Pinkerton in the late 1940s.
