Around the Fur is the second studio album by the American alternative metal band Deftones, released on October 28, 1997, by Maverick Records.The songs "My Own Summer (Shove It)" and "Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)" were released as singles with accompanying music videos.
One release is certified gold by the RIAA in recognition of shipments exceeding 500,000 copies, and three are certified platinum for exceeding one million copies. As the title suggests, Covers is a compilation of cover songs—many of which were previously released on B-Sides & Rarities (2005) and the digital version of Diamond Eyes (2010). The album was originally released as an 11-track edition beginning with "Feiticeira" and ending with "Pink Maggit", and featuring gray cover art. A limited-edition print of 50,000 black-and-red jewel case versions of White Pony was released at the same time with a bonus twelfth track titled "The Boy's Republic". [ 40 ]
In honor of the album's 20th anniversary, Deftones re-released White Pony on December 11, 2020, packaged with Black Stallion, a bonus remix album. In 2012, Loudwire ranked the song number two on their list of the 10 greatest Deftones songs, [7] and in 2020, Kerrang ranked the song number three on their list of the 20 greatest Deftones songs.
