The Northumberland County Historical Society is a Pennsylvania nonprofit organization, which was chartered on October 26, 1925 and incorporated on May 21, 1998. Its leaders, members and volunteers are dedicated to the collection, preservation and exhibition of artifacts, documents, photographs, and other items which tell the story of Northumberland County, Pennsylvania and its people.
The borough collection for the town is one of the largest archives that the record office preserves. Until 1978 the borough records were kept at Berwick Town Hall, they were then moved to council premises at Wallace Green, which had been Berwick gaol. [7] A newspaper article from 1988 states that records were held in three former police cells. [8]

Herndon, formerly Trevorton Junction, is a borough along the Susquehanna River in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, United States. Herndon was first founded by Robert A. Parrish in 1840. The town was later named for Naval commander William Lewis Herndon, who died in 1857 while trying to rescue passengers from his sinking ship. [4]
