James A. Dallas Sr. (December 19, 1917 – April 9, 2004) was an American educator, entrepreneur, musical patron and civic leader from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. [1] [2] He was the first African-American man to have a street in downtown Fort Lauderdale named in his honor. [3]
He remained active in the community, with involvement in the Rotary Club of Fort Lauderdale, Leadership Florida, the Marine Corps League, and the Vietnam Veterans Association. He was named Florida Man of the Year by Florida Atlantic University in 1993, and 2007 Distinguished Citizen by the Fort Lauderdale City Commission on April 17, 2007.
Dennis James Kennedy (November 3, 1930 – September 5, 2007) was an American Presbyterian pastor, evangelist, Christian broadcaster, and author.He was the senior pastor of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from 1960 until his death in 2007.
