The Bachelor of Teaching (B.T.) degree, once offered in India, underwent a transformation in 2002, giving rise to the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree. The eligibility criterion for enrolling in the B.Ed. course was modified in 2019 by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), now requiring a graduation-level qualification (10+2+3).
