Leander Independent School District is a school district based in Leander, Texas and covering a total of 200 square miles (520 km 2) in Leander, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Jonestown, Round Rock in Williamson County and northwest Austin in Travis County. Rouse High School was established in 2008 by the Leander Independent School District in Leander, Texas to relieve overcrowding in the quickly growing district. It is named after Charles Rouse, a former principal at Leander High School. [2] When the school first opened in 2008, it had only a freshman class.

It was established in 1998 to serve as the second high school in the Leander Independent School District due to the rapid growth in the area. The school's mascot is the Timberwolf, and the colors of CPHS are Forest Green, Silver, and Black.
