With the aim of Forces Goal 2030, Bangladesh Navy is continuing to enhance its capabilities by establishing new bases to support the force in large extent especially logistics and information technological support in capital.

The Bangladesh Navy signed a contract with the China State Shipbuilding Corporation for second batch of two C-13B version of Type 056 corvettes on 21 July 2015. [1] The ships were laid down at Wuchang Shipyard on 9 August 2016. [2] BNS Shongram was launched on 12 February 2018 and handed over to the Bangladesh Navy on 28 March 2019.
The Bangladesh Navy currently operates two submarines, five guided missile frigates, two patrol frigates, six guided missile corvettes, minor surface combatants of various type of offshore patrol vessels, coastal patrol boats, missile boats, minesweepers, auxiliaries, amphibious landing craft and rapid response boats.
BNS Bangabandhu (Bengali: বানৌজা বঙ্গবন্ধু) is a guided-missile frigate of the Bangladesh Navy. She is currently based at Chattogram, serving with the Commodore Commanding BN Flotilla (COMBAN). She is currently the only frigate of the Bangladesh Navy armed with ASW torpedo and gun based CIWS.
