Bergoo is a census-designated place (CDP) in Webster County, West Virginia, United States. As of the 2010 census , its population was 94. [ 2 ] Bergoo lies at the confluence of the Elk River and Leatherwood Creek.

The state established the West Virginia Central Railroad, which has contracted with the Durbin and Greenbrier Valley Railroad (DGVR) to operate a heritage railway on portions of the line. [ 4 ] Out of the locomotives owned and operated by the company, two are preserved, both under ownership of the State of West Virginia.
Webster became part of West Virginia on June 20, 1863. When the state was formed, each county was divided into multiple civil townships , with the intention of encouraging local government. This proved impractical in the heavily rural state, so in 1872 the townships were converted into magisterial districts .
