The 47 is really identical to a 17 (dust cover length and G5 innards are the only differences). Slide length and height on the 47 and the 17 are identical. The 45 is the same height as the 17 and just has the 19's shorter slide. The 47 came into being for the BP because it wanted to be able to swap a 19 slide on to a 17.

The first one I toyed with G45 M.O.S. w/ Holosun 507c-X2 ACSS red dot and TLR-7A high position light. I did get the C&H plate for the 507c to see if it made a difference over Glock M.O.S. plates that came with it and found the Glock plates were just right. For the K, C&H might be the answer.

Glock 17 vs 45 (continuing to beat a dead horse) My only 9mm Glock is an early gen 5 19 that I’ve been concealed carrying for 2.5 years now and I absolutely love it. I’m tired of carrying my G19 during the day and coming home and putting a light, threaded barrel, and suppressor on (yeah yeah suppressor for home defense, I’ve heard all the ...

  5. Glock 45 vs 47 recoil impulse

Glock 45 vs 47 recoil impulse. I’ve seen several times since the 19X/g45 came out that many prefer them for the full sized frame with a “snappier” recoil impulse - including for competition at yardages up to 25. The inference seems to be that the snappier recoil helps reduce split times. Considering that the 47 has the 17 length slide but ...

The G45 is lesss likely to dig into seats or make the bonk noise, if you sit on a hard surface. The G45 offers some modularity options, with a G23.5; effectively giving you a G23X and a G19, if you so wish. It can’t be understood, on paper, but the balance and feel of the G45 is really a mark above the G17.

  7. Why the Glock 45? - Glock Talk

    www.glocktalk.com/threads/why-the-glock-45.2011509

The G45 is popular for the same reasons the Commander 1911 became popular, it has some great attributes. It shoots as well as the g17 (full size) but the slightly shorter barrel is a little more comfortable for carry. The G19 is somewhat like the Officers 1911, less capacity, smaller grip, and shorter barrel.

The 19X/45 gamechanger magic is hype, plain and simple. There’s really no appreciable difference between a 45 and a 17. I like both, but any major performance differences are more likely shooter related. All things equal, the G17 is still the best all-around Glock made.

The only other pertinent info was that he likes Glock customer service, and somehow talked them into sending him (non-armorer) a replacement firing pin.

  11. Glock 45 first impression - amazing accuracy

I finally took my new Glock 45 out to the range to try it and adjust the TruGlo TFO sights I put on it. I have read that the new Gen5 Marksman barrels are far more accurate than the Gen 4 and prior barrels. One article showed Gen 5 groups about half the size of the Gen 4 groups and 25 yard groups under 2 inches, best I recall.
