Parras de la Fuente (pronounced [ˈparas ðe la ˈfwente] ⓘ) is a city located in the southern part of the Mexican state of Coahuila. The city serves as the municipal seat of the surrounding Parras Municipality, which has an area of 9,271.7 km 2 (3,579.8 sq mi). At the census of 2020, the population was 44,472. [1]

Parras is one of the 38 municipalities of Coahuila, in north-eastern Mexico. The municipal seat lies at Parras de la Fuente. The municipality covers an area of 9,271.7 km 2. As of 2005, the municipality had a total population of 44,715. [1]
He was born in Coahuila, New Spain, to Jose Gregorio Arciniega and Maria Josefa Flores de Abrego. [2] He married Maria Alejandra Lasoya on January 25, 1825, and had ten children. Jose Miguel's father and his uncle, Felipe Arciniega were mounted lancers in the Second Flying Company of San Carlos de Parras. [3]

The Parras Valley in Coahuila has held its Feria de la Uva y el Vino (Festival of Grapes and Wine) since 1945, centered on the town of Parras de la Fuente. The event showcases the area's wines as well as other local products such as handcrafts, candies, denim clothing and food. This event is generally held in June. [21]
