Father Yod (/ j oʊ d / YOHD), or YaHoWha, born James Edward Baker (July 4, 1922 – August 25, 1975), was an American new religious movement founder and owner of one of the country's first health food restaurants, on Sunset Strip in Los Angeles. He founded a spiritual commune in the Hollywood Hills known as the Source Family.
After Father Yod / Ya Ho Wha's hang-gliding accident and death in Hawaii in 1975, the original Yahowa 13 band dissolved, though many of the members continue to make music. Golden Sunrise (Fire Water Air, 1977), the first recording after Father Yod's death and the first featured appearance of Sky Saxon of The Seeds. [4]
The Source Family is a 2012 feature documentary film directed by Jodi Wille and Maria Demopoulos which recounts the story of Father Yod, Ya Ho Wa 13 and the Source Family. [2] Much material was gleaned from the group's official documentarian and one of Father Yod's wives, Isis Aquarian.
Father Yod opened the Source restaurant at 8301 Sunset Blvd. in 1969 to support his growing family of followers, and it became one of the first hotspots in L.A. for organic vegetarian food.

Yodo-dono founded the temple Yogen-in (養源院) in memory of her father, Azai Nagamasa, and her mother, Oichi, and she contributed to the restoration of the temples in Koya-san Mountain and others. She then moved to Osaka Castle with her son Hideyori, where she planned the restoration of the Toyotomi clan.
