The California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) was founded in 1969 [1] by the California Psychological Association. It is part of the for-profit [2] Alliant International University where each campus's Clinical Psychology Psy.D. and Ph.D. program is individually accredited by the American Psychological Association. [3]
A clinical neuropsychologist must be able to determine whether a symptom(s) was caused by an injury to the head. This is done by interviewing the patient, then determining what actions should be taken to best help the patient. [2] Another duty of a clinical neuropsychologist is to find cerebral abnormalities and possible correlations. [2]
This initiative culminated in the creation of the Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP) in 1965. The EPPP's initial adoption was gradual, but its acceptance steadily increased. By the mid-1980s, it had become the dominant entry-level examination for independent practice licensure in most jurisdictions across both countries.
