Not sportbikes, but I put 30K+ miles on my '06 DL650 in 2 years; 75K on my '94 BMW K1100LT in the 3 years I owned that; and my '01 GL1800 currently has 116K on the odo.

It's just safety, even if not a heaping bunch of it. And safety should always reign supreme over fashion.
