Schoolcraft Township is a civil township of Kalamazoo County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 9,183 at the 2020 census , [ 3 ] up from 8,214 at the 2010 census . [ 4 ] The township is named for Henry Schoolcraft , noted for conducting many early land surveys throughout Michigan.

[3] With a total land area of 277.43 square miles (718.54 km 2), Hiawatha Township is the third largest municipality in the state after McMillan Township and Marenisco Township.
