After years of discussion, a major conference realignment was unveiled by the WIAA for southeastern Wisconsin in 1980. Five new schools joined the Suburban: four of the smaller schools from the Milwaukee City Conference (Juneau, Riverside, Rufus King [21] and West Division) and Racine Horlick from the former South Shore Conference. [22]
At the 2008 National Championship, Moorpark and Waukesha West achieved the two highest team scores ever recorded at any Academic Decathlon competition. [8] Notably, Waukesha West is the only school in the United States outside of California and Texas to have ever won the USAD National competition, which it did in 2002. [9] [10]

The Braveland Conference is a former high school athletic conference in Wisconsin, formed in 1953 and ending competition in 1993. Its membership was concentrated in Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties and was affiliated with the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association .
