CR 520 extends east along Texas Road to the intersection of Marlboro Road, then turns southeast onto Marlboro Road. Texas Road continues beyond Marlboro Road as CR 690. CR 520 is under municipal (Old Bridge and Marlboro townships) jurisdiction between Texas Road and US 9. From US 9 to its eastern terminus it is under Monmouth County jurisdiction.

The CDP contains the unincorporated communities of Marlboro and Campbells Corner. New Jersey Route 49 passes through the CDP, leading southeast 6 miles (10 km) to Bridgeton, the Cumberland county seat, and northwest 10 miles (16 km) to Salem. Marlboro was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census. [4]
